A JOURNEY BY BOAT (নৌকা ভ্রমণ) [Din. B. 2019]

A journey by boat is always exciting, especially for those of us who live in a country full of rivers.

Last month I had the chance to enjoy a boat journey that I will remember for a long time. It was during a short visit to my uncle's house in Chandpur. One afternoon he suggested that we go to a nearby village to see a small weekly market. The only way to go there was by boat. I agreed at once because I had not travelled by boat for many days.

We started our journey at three o'clock. The weather was calm and pleasant. The sky was clear and a soft wind was blowing. Our boat was a small wooden one. It had a shed made of bamboo and tin. The boatman was an elderly man who knew the river very well. As soon as the boat started to move, small waves formed around it. The quiet sound of water touching the boat made me feel fresh and relaxed.

On both sides of the river I saw green fields and tall trees. Farmers were working in the fields and children were playing near the bank. Some women were washing clothes at the ghat. A few fishing boats were also moving slowly on the river. The scene was so peaceful that I felt like I was in a different world. I took several pictures to remember the beautiful sights.

After an hour we reached the village market. It was a simple but lively place. People were selling vegetables, fruits, fish and handmade items. We walked around the market for some time and bought some fresh bananas. The villagers were friendly and spoke to us with great warmth. I enjoyed watching their simple way of life.

Before sunset we started our return journey. This time the river looked even more beautiful. The golden colour of the setting sun reflected on the water. Birds were flying back to their nests. The air became cooler and the whole environment felt magical. I sat quietly and enjoyed every moment. We reached home after about two hours. Although the journey was short, it gave me great joy. It helped me feel close to nature and enjoy the beauty of rural life. I will always remember this boat Journey as one of the most enjoyable experiences of my life..
