Tense চেনার সবচেয়ে সহজ উপায় হলো Auxiliary Verb (Helping Verb) এবং Main Verb-এর Form দেখা।
Present Tense
1. Present Indefinite
Formula: Subject + V1/V1+s/es
চেনার নিয়ম:
- Verb-এর মূল রূপ (V1) থাকে।
- He/She/It হলে Verb-এর সাথে s/es যোগ হয়।

Advanced Tense Rules for HSC, Admission & Competitive Exams
নিচের নিয়মগুলো HSC Board Exam, University Admission, BCS ও Job Exam-এ খুবই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।
1. Universal Truth → Present Indefinite
সর্বজনস্বীকৃত সত্য বা চিরন্তন সত্য বোঝাতে Present Indefinite ব্যবহৃত হয়।

- Honesty is the best policy.
- Water boils at 100°C.
2. Historical Present
অতীতের ঘটনা জীবন্তভাবে বর্ণনা করতে Present Indefinite ব্যবহার করা হয়।

- In 1757, Clive defeats Sirajuddaula at the Battle of Plassey.
3. Future Time Clause Rule
When, before, after, as soon as, until, unless, if, while, whenever-এর পরে Future Tense ব্যবহার করা হয় না; Present Indefinite ব্যবহৃত হয়।
Correct:
- When he comes, I will help him.
- If it rains, we will stay home.
- As soon as she arrives, I will call you.

- When he will come, I will help him.
4. Since and For Rule
Since = Point of Time
- since 2020

For = Period of Time

5. Present Perfect vs Past Indefinite
Present Perfect
সময়ের উল্লেখ নেই।

Past Indefinite

6. Past Perfect Rule
অতীতে দুটি কাজ হলে যে কাজটি আগে সম্পন্ন হয়, সেটি Past Perfect হয়।

7. No Sooner...Than
Structure:
No sooner had + Subject + V3 + than + Subject + V2

8. Hardly/Scarcely...When
Structure:
Hardly/Scarcely had + Subject + V3 + when + Subject + V2
Examples:

9. After + Perfect Form

- After he had completed the work, he went home.
- After finishing the work, he went home.
10. By the Time
অতীতে একটি কাজ শেষ হওয়ার আগে আরেকটি কাজ সম্পন্ন হলে Past Perfect ব্যবহৃত হয়।
